  1. Alexane answers some questions about the school trip to Ireland:

Is this the first time you’ve been to Ireland?

Yes! I went to England once, but not to Ireland.

What was the highlight of your trip?

I loved cycling in the Aran Isles and visiting an old castle there. It was great fun because we split up into two groups: the “sporty” group and the “tourists” (who got lost and never even found the castle!).

What was it like staying with Irish families?

The first family in Dublin was nice but they didn’t speak with us much, and I was ill at ease. In Galway, it was perfect, there were two girls and their mother. We were allowed out, so we made friends with the two girls and we also saw our friends! We practiced our English too.

What do you think of Ireland?

The landscapes are very beautiful, and the people were very nice and friendly. I love their accents!

What were the teachers like and was the atmosphere good?

They were less strict than in class, it was cool!

Will you go back if you can?

    Yes, without hesitation!

Were you happy to get back to France?

No, I would have preferred to stay in Ireland because I had to go back to school after this week of holiday!

What did you bring back from Ireland for your family?

Two bracelets, a tee-shirt, some make-up, stuff like that. I bought an IPhone protection with the Irish flag for my brother.

What are the biggest differences between Ireland and France?

The language of course is so different. Also, family life is not the same.
